Summary

Well we went to our very first mouse show on 24th September 2005. Here we met a lot of friendly people. While we were quite keen on getting blues or black tans we were advised that these could be quite tricky for beginners (particularly the blues). We were shown some pink eyed whites; which didn't look like lab mice at all. Lovely big animals with huge ears. So we decied to have a go at breeding them. We picked up 2 trios at the show. One trio of youngsters from an auction (Morpheus, Calypso and Ilythia) and the other trio of adults from a breeder based in Blackpool (Orion, Eris and Aphrodite)

The plan is to pair either Eris or Aphrodite with Orion pretty soon. One of the chinchilla females (Twilight or Dusk) will be paired with Storm at the same time. The non-pregnant mouse of each colour will then be put in with the pregnant female of the other colour. They will act as "nanny" and prevent us from getting which mouse had which litter mixed up.

28th September 2005 - Orion has been put in with Eris with a view to breeding. We expect Eris' first litter at around 19th October 2005.
